  To Benedict XVIth.
A word of warning, which I would think you do not need, written to you on the subject of the Latin Mass. At the time of Vat.2, many of us in rosary groups around the world prayed so hard to have the mass in the vernacular. We received an answer to our prayer and many churches went immediately, in my knowledge, to English. We never prayed for the foolish change of the Novus Ordo and certainly to return to the Early Church Fathers on this matter is against the revelations of 1000 years.
Many of those were not around in those days who want the Tridentine and are separating the Church because of their intransigence on the Latin. Look upon them in two ways. Many who have a great deal of knowledge and no intelligence to use it, are convinced by their ego they have and are the truth. Secondly, there is an economic theory concerning ignorance and assurance. I see this in many of the faithful???? today, i.e. assured their ignorance is correct. The traddies (in my personal experience) are in error. They divide the Church as much as the other cults who have blindsided the hierarchs with the word Renewal. One knows of the lack of use of the Sacrament of Confession in the church, which I saw by personal experience is no more popular in the traditional movement than in the rest of the Church. When this fact is added to the knowledge one cannot be spiritual in the catholic sense if the Giver Of Life does not quicken the soul, leads a right thinking catholic to see that errors exists among them too. Therefore I doubt if it is the Holy Spirit stirs them unless blinded by their collective egos, they mistake His demands for reverence as a return to a time before His answer to the prayers of the faithful in 1961. Our egos will drive us in the wrong direction every time as with out a shadow of doubt discernment a grace filled gift seems to be absent in these strident demands. We know He, the Spirit of Wisdom does not change His mind and he already granted us the mass in the vernacular. If the Church turns to the Latin mass it will still not make the Sacrament in many cases worthy, nor reverent.
I prayed with many in the late fifties and early sixties for the Mass in the vernacular. I prayed for this as I wanted to offer my prayer and my personal sacrifice with my heart, my mind and my soul, for it to be a true prayer. The liturgy is worthless if this is not so. One cannot offer the Mass, our ecclesial, parish community and personal prayer, without fully participating with all three in a state of purity and grace both as assets for the congregation and our interior disposition. St Faustina among others tells us God hears the prayers of the pure. It is like confessing one sin’s directly to God. Who knows and can say with authority if either sins are forgiven or sacrifices received? Baruch tells us, “The eyes of God are so pure He cannot see evil”. The argument that we can follow the English in the missal is foolish. Very few can see where we are in the offering when the priest's back is turned and our eyes are glued to the page in the missal. It is bad enough that so many offerings today are sinful without I take pains and make my effort as pure as I can. Look how God punished those who offered beasts with one eye or birds with one leg. He certainly showed these offerings were not acceptable. Are you or I better than those in scriptures? I think not. That is not the route for my or any’s salvation.
I do not see how you can really allow any “Motu” on the Liturgy without including the instructions of Paul VIth. He admonished the Church on how he wanted and demanded the people should celebrate the mass with the Priest using the vernacular and the congregation responding in Latin for the Gloria, the Sanctus, the Credo, the Pater Noster and the Domine non sum Dignus. You too are subject to the former admonishments of your predecessor and cannot by tradition and teaching change them.

Per Crucem ad Lucem et Veritas
