I have a large problem and if this problem makes me uncomfortable then in some way, putting aside all egotistical thoughts, must also be a problem for the Church. It is the claim of so many, who are self-authorized, speaking for the Trinity and Mary, the Trinitarian Queen. One finds them all over the internet. I am disgusted at the battling prophets and denials of other’s words. One man, the ‘Publican’ trashcans the majority and many attack him. Is he right or wrong? Reading some of their critiques, one sees it has become a catholic industry to pan his writings too. I ask, what is present in the all correspondence published on the 'net? If some of you read it at all, you will be confused. What is missing from amongst these self admiring prophets? Discernment is the first and most notable absence. What is present in fact, and can be also present by our inference? Present are the subtle roots of pride, those tares, which will be incinerated in the raging fires of God’s wrath and by inference we understand they make it known, “We are Holy, defend God and thus will prove you wrong”. What kind of apologetics is this? Personally I cannot imagine a God who loves us so much not warning us in this day and age of the dangers of our lifestyle in this world. He needs only one to tell us, that is to warn us. I wrote to one who calls her Webpage, Bread of Heaven, to ask, “Do you ever pray for discernment? Her answer, “I do not need it I see Him”. My goodness! what a prideful answer?
I find and must believe that in this day and age, Heaven, Providence has much to say and They are unheard I see God’s revelations distorted, dirtied by man’s mind. The faithful in the Church are being led so far from the truth. Therefore we can exponentially believe those outside the first concentric ring of Vatican 2’s ecclesiology are even further from Truth Himself. I say we are all ignorant, assured of our righteousness and assertive of our holiness. The Charismatic way of prayer in the renewal movement taken as an example of how we are holy, is a way mined and snared with the errors of the mystery religions that gave Paul such grief. The Byzantines pray with some degree of humility, “Lord Jesus of Nazareth, pray for me for I am a sinner”, to which, others and I should say, “Of which I am the first”.
Stop for a moment and think, whom do we understand as the Bread of Heaven? Now can anyone else be Him, and it unfortunate but I must add, especially a woman? A woman can definitely be the handmaid of the Word made Flesh or a saint and member of the Church Triumphant but please forget any other pretentious titles, let alone indirectly claim Christ's sacrfice and priesthood. In any case I make this point strongly, this prophet is certainly a case of where man cannot live by this bread alone. I see no sign of sanctifying grace spreading from her writings. Are her words able to quicken the soul? Are they any help to our salvation and that is the only criterion for us.
There are other dreadful prophecies found on the ‘Net amongst them many personal versions of the End Times. What does this or these prophecies enkindle in the minds of many who read them. Is it grace, unfortunately not. They have become for many a NIMBY dogma, which confirms the idea in many egos the thought “I am Holy I will be touched by some of the punishments but will be protected by God”. This is due to ignorance of the grace of God, how this grace is earned and how it is given. Conversely, there are those who say I will be gone before these times. “I will be called to Paradise by the rapture”. This is another self-delusion, which is so apparent in the world today.
What should a good practicing catholic be doing to avoid God’s wrath at anytime during this age, the Age of the Paraclete? Go to confession. That is the only renewal that counts. Everything else is piffle. Humility and repentance before an Apostolic Priest whose authority comes from the Church whose power to forgive sins comes from Jesus Christ, Himself is all that matters. There are those who say I confess my sins to God or I make an act of perfect contrition. Let me ask you two questions. Does God hear you after he has established through His Divine Providence a way to forgive sins. A way established from His knowledge of our fallen human nature. He must have known the awful degree of pride that would keep us from “confessing” our sins to a mere man. Yet He did say, “If you love me you will keep my commandments”. He also said, “Man is saved by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord”. The second question is because of our concupiscence a sinful trait we receive because of our fallen human nature, “Are we capable of a sincere act of contrition”? The church does not think so. From her experience with our nature read what the Council of Trent says about the Sacrament of Penance. My personal feeling when examining my conscience I find two things again. One unless I am in the face of something frightening which for many would be akin to stand in front of a speeding express train I experience no deep sorrow. For me that train is the thought of losing God’s love and presence through grave sin.
Perhaps this might be an aid to knowing one's sinful state. I always confess that at my last confession I would not commit these sins again and I have I did not really try hard. May I ask are you any different?
