Space and Occupied Territory
How many of us can truly understand spirit, space, time, everywhere and eternity? Not many I suppose and certainly with the tepidity that causes vomit or we know in today’s worldly actions there is an absolute indifference and distain for the Word of God that makes any consideration of the above in a spiritual light a sign of madness or foolishness. You may of course disagree, God did give us the inalienable right of free will to which He will never do violence, which is unlike so many who will read this. I mean those who are politically and liberally correct will always forcefully insist we act or think their way, even to making it lawful for them to do so. In the Catholic Church there are so many who claim Holiness, that 'earned' Gift of the Holy Spirit, yet they stridently deny this gift in others and like the scripture prophecy these separated brethren call many who are in the state of grace, the devil. These bretheren lack the state of charity, without both states, grace and charity, their sacrifice of the mass is meaningless for their soul.
The question to be asked, returning to the opening sentence are spirit and space the same in the impoverished human creation we became after the fall of Adam. The time which the Byzantine East defines as, “Once we were blessed and then the fall removed us from the blessing”. This is a paraphrase of Seraphim of Sarov. Of course, it is not the same, Spirit is immaterial and therefore cannot occupy space, and yet we say God is everywhere. What can everywhere mean? Is not everywhere in a certain defined sense everything? Therefore, I write the Great God is in everything as He wills and we can then say that our soul also immaterial but also eternal in which God is supposed by faith, love, and almsgiving (Charity) to occupy. However, our soul is circumscribed by our body. The body vivified by the soul exists with God’s love in us and Life drives the body to breathe, to walk, to stand up and do all the functions of the body as is necessary to act in this world. Does the soul die, God Himself in the Old Testament told Ezechiel, it does, “The soul that sins dies”. What does that mean for us? Paul himself explains it very concisely, “We die to Christ”, that is we reject God’s Trinitarian love and He treats us as a fool, a member of another tribe with a different prince. He will say at sometime to some of us, “Away from Me you cursed ones, receive the fires of hell prepared for you”. A place in eternity I do not wish upon anyone. God never shares can never share His Temple with His enemy and the Word tells us we cannot serve two masters, indeed, we can only love one or the other. Although loving the wrong one is no longer love but hate as God's eyes are so pure, He cannot see ugliness 'Baruch' and He did not create hate. It entered the world through ugliness himself
What therefore must time mean? Time is an infinitesimal part of eternity. As the Power and presence of God is so huge, words cannot contain a description of it, so it is with time in a similar ratio to eternity. Time is or should be Charity that exists for us so with our soul in a state of charity with never ending prayer we can earn salvation and practice Charity by helping Jesus in His work of salvation for others. As long as the world turns and life exists we can and must pray for others after their death and even evangelize those of this world into the Kingdom of Heaven on earth. Dreadful will be the punishment for those who do not. Dreadful will be the question on the last day, “Did you save any souls? What did you do with the talent (Faith) I gave you? Did you bury it along with your conscience? Then your eternity comes. Where will your final end be, will it be in hot fires or will you be cooled by the Wind (the Breath) of the Holy Spirit? The choice is yours.
