  lenten thoughts

Thinking the other night I wondered if you can see the same as I did. Christ in this world humbled Himself for thirty years, give or take a year or two. He chose a mortal man to teach Him to be a man and to earn a living. This was according to the Law of the Sinai. He followed and fulfilled all the prophecies, laws and tenets of the Old Law. Did He pay much attention to the 600 to 800 rabbinical precepts, which seemed to set up, to further the Power of the Jewish Hierarchy? When the time was right and it was not His time but His Father’s He spent a 40 day retreat in the Desert and was tempted to sin. Those forty days were the preparation of Himself for His Mission. Let me ask you, “Was there one Jewish Hierarch He could have approached for help in this preparation? Look at the Church today can we receive that help we need from those who do not believe in Sin, hell, Transubstantiation, freedom of mankind to act according to his will. Consider your answer carefully. Christ said, “Be like Me, be perfect as is Your Father in heaven”. Then as you try, remember you will be persecuted by those who do not live according to the living, teaching example of the Word. There are those who have changed the Word having no care for His Old Testament roots given by His Father, but translate them as they see fit to justify their erroneous beliefs. Many you meet, will become so agitated, and will come to you with honeyed words to say, “Do not take offence with what I am about to tell you”. They will and they do. These people will trample on the inner voice of your conscience to make you like them. Some will be priests some will be catholic laity and others from those outside the Catholic Community. I urge you to remember Christ’s words to the Jews, “You will teach them your dogmas and they will be worse than you”

Consider these latter viewing them from the temptations of Christ in scriptures. They are Seducers offering us the sweetness of their friendship just as satan offered Christ his friendship if He Our Lord would only accept his satanic offer. How dreadful this was and is even so today. Do you see that lack of humility for those who want to be King or Lord over us substituting their beliefs for ours. We are kings in our own little dependency; that is our spiritual and human inner self. We are always in rebellion in these little lands, the spiritual against human. We can quell this revolt which can be seen in both senses of the word by adopting the Rules of battle taught by the Word made Flesh, putting them to use. We must adopt them as The Eternal and Almighty God adopted us.

  Holy Spirit Part 2
Holy Spirit; Part 2
I ended the previous blog with writing the Holy Spirit is a hard task master. Many of you probably went into a spirit of denial. So therefore, here is a question for you. Is Justice part of God’s attributes? Do not many of us find God’s justice harsh? Do we not murmur often and question why does God allow little children to suffer or thieves to be successful?
As history tells us in scriptures and it is a fact that secular historians often deny, the original people of God were the Jews and the vision of their Holy Men is the first part of Genesis. Their language foresaw God’s action on earth as His breath, the Ruah. Ruah is translated by the Greeks as Pneuma and the Latins as Spiritus. For the early inhabitants of the world the wind was special. For the pagans it was the source of so much and came from the personalities of their gods. Malevolent winds came from Typhon is but one example. Examples abound in the eastern cults. The children of the God of Israel never saw winds any kind of god. For them, as for us, there is only one Godhead and Israel considered winds a divinely created action, from their belief the Ruah of God was seen as the Breath of God, whether it was benevolent, angry or in some cases protective for their security, really it was for their benefit. This was a belief from their covenant with Yahweh, “I will be your God and you will be My people”, just it as was promised. Where does this wind, this breath of God come from? In the Old Law it came from God , who used It to protect Israel. It brought plagues to Egypt, dried up the Red Sea. Fed the Israeli pilgrims in the Desert with manna and quail. It was as Job said, “One breath, one blast od the divine anger withers them quiet and they are gone”. Or as Isaiah wrote, “The grass is withered, the flower is fallen, because the Spirit of the Lord has blown upon it”. In the New Law contrary to the denials of Byzantine Orthodoxy the Breath of God came from Jesus when He breathed on the Apostles and said, “Receive You the Holy Ghost”. Today in the Church in another remembrance of Christ Bishops breath on the faithful and administer the Spirit of Power in the Sacramental Mystery of Confirmation or Chrysmation. If we are told this in Scriptures then whatever spin a hierarch or Church puts on it is meaningless. This spin is the most abhorrent pride starkly visible to our eyes and ears. The breath of God comes from the Father, the Son (all power is given Me) to the Apostolic Priesthood. If this is not so then how can a Bishop confirm or chrysmate?
