lately I have heard one homily and read two dissertations that are disturbing. The one heard, covered conscience and the natural law. I am sure I did not misunderstand, yet I and others heard that it is conscience that naturally tells us what is wrong in our and others actions. The Church has always said we teach or inform our conscience but even those outside the Church can naturally know right from wrong. The two dissertations wrote mixing up conscience and ignorance. These writings called conscience evincible or invincible, when the Church again has always saved these descriptions for ignorance. If we form our conscience or as it should be, teach our children to form their consciences we or they cannot be ignorant. Not to teach our children to form their conscience is a dreadful sin. Ignorance on one side is either deliberately forgetful or on the other it is putting aside correct views It is either evincible, forgetful or hiding facts or just not knowing Invincible.
