Tyros, pastors and pressure
Reading back over my blogs, without a shadow of doubt I can say I am rather harsh and rant at pious frauds, spiritual hoodwinkers and other sundry chumps who have forgotten what we and they exist for.
The Church under the present circumstances imitates big business, using its management techniques right down to the very real efforts ‘management style’ hierarchs make in denial of their actions. They handle money and are unanswerable to anyone on how they spend our cash. John said it well and at times he is still current in his views. "Judas was the keeper of the common purse and him a thief". That is not to say it is common for money to be stolen but in the case of the forgotten drama where share lent contributions went to fund abortion and birth control advocates in South America, with a Catholic hierarch from Peru asking the Canadian Bishops not to fund these people, am I the only one to find this abysmal. The way in which we, the laity, are stridently told we make the decisions and you obey. Obedience expected from us, the laity, is an absolute unquestionable surrender of our will and common sense to which is often not church doctrine. The claim made that this is what the church teaches when often there is no clear teaching, arises from a form of pastor abuse or more often due to congregational pressure from unwittingly ignorant tyros, the new untested unqualified recruits, as we say converts. All I'm afraid are the products of the sixties formed priest and I for one will be glad when they have passed on and met the Maker and Judge.
I find so many of the Catholic Laity and Priests have petrified and ossified minds, who faced with old truths that by the declarations of Vatican 2, also by Popes since, never were changed. The question now is who are we to believe, who are we to obey? Furthermore, I ask what, are we to obey. Look at these examples. The state of what should be truly called; extra to the ordinary-minister of the Eucharist has become as important as the Priest who is the ordinary minister. This importance is seen in many parishes as Priests have gone against what are Church teachings that Body and Blood exist under either kind alone. denial of these teachings allow the Body and Blood to be communicated at every mass, contrary at the time this habit started to the teachings of the Council of Trent. Ignorant savants and weak priests forced by congregational pressure allowed this denial of the Body and Blood of Christ exists together in either kind alone. A certainly definitive teaching made at the Council of Trent. One result of this is priests rarely take communion to the shut ins relying upon women extras to take it and because of these priestly actions the shut ins rarely if ever receive the Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation. I have seen one woman who was taking the Eucharist setting up a table with an altar cloth and candles and giving a homily. The local priest at that time evinced no interest in pursuing any inquiry into the situation. The kiss of peace is not church doctrine but again congregational pressure. In fact it is only an option, yet I know of a Bishop who did not know this or perhaps did and was determined to make us all do it, because he said we must. The holding hands at the Our Father is for the sake or sign of unity I’m told. What arrant nonsense the Creed is sufficient surely. If the Bishops had any brains they would see this as far more unhygienic than Communion on the tongue.Think of holding hands with a young boy od ten??? As I wrote a sentence or two ago, remember those ossified and petrified brains. Can we hope sometime for, far more thoughtful actions by our superiors? It would be nice if they thought outside their egos. When I ask, are the enchanted sisterhood, those of the purple or blue stole mien, a dreadful lead in to the thought in many catholic women and their representatives that by being baptized they deserve and have earned the priesthood. When will the Bishops say, "Do not wear these stoles to church as they are misleading the faithful". Here comes the bishop's spin on the situation roaring down the track towards the altar. They, the bishops, will of course rather than deal with it now do as they have done since Vatican 2 leave it until it is too late. No common sense on avoiding situations at the start. Google "blue stole' or 'purple stole". Find what is happening on some occasions in diocese or parishes. Read of the demonstrations taking place in the eastern US and western Canada.
I will go as far as to say even a Bishop's Imprimatur, Abrogation or permission does not mean the subject is factually, doctrinally acceptable. It means it is acceptable, to the truly orthodox and meaningless to many. It is the Pope only that has the right of infallibility and when the bishops teach what he authorized, when the priests and laity teach what the bishop, then authorizes, then the Church is infallible. No superior being in the pews has that authority no matter what singular honor they claim can over throw these facts.
I find that whatever criticism is leveled at bloggers and their blogs at least information right or wrong is front and center. These people leave no one without facts and at least think about the rightness and the wrongness before you make any decision. At least you are free from congregational pressure and pastor abuse.
I claim that these blogs rightly or wrongly are giving Catholics, consecrated or laity, food for their spiritual thought.
