Bishops and Trust
Just read Archbishop Weisgerber's statement on Zenit concerning the funds used for abortion advertising in Mexico. I might just have to apologize. It is a sorry state of affairs when I as a Catholic of seventy one years closing in rapidly on the seventy second year of catholic faith as I read it, think here we go again. What is wrong with the hierarchy do they not see we the faithful do not trust them any longer. Where is the honesty that Christ demands of His Apostles. Do they think we will all kiss and make up easily. The virtue of prudence makes us, the laity very careful. We, in Canada, remember the orphanage affair in Newfoundland and how a practicing psychiatrist had to be brought in to council the faithful in their despair. I know the Doctor in question.Did he LIE to me I do not think so. I remeber these spinnings. The spin put on the accusations made in a newspaper in the southern states on the homosexual problem in the priesthood that started to surface at the same time as the orphanage. The spin put out to combat it and the web sites that proved it to be true and the ensuing scandal that the laity's cash was used to pay off. The denial of Cardinal Ratzinger's letter by a fellow Collegiate Cardinal in the states that a web site corrected the Cardinal's words, his spin presenting a copy of the present Pope's Letter, that said what Cardinal Ratzinger wrote. It was not what the Cardinal from Washington DC spun for our digestion.
In the statement on Zenit, I did not see any denial of the Peruvian Hierarch's letter. just a question hinting at its validity. Some lawyer in Vancouver sent it. It had the Peruvian sender's name blacked out. What a pernicious attempt at dismissal. Will the Peruvian be asked to cancel the letter? Let's wait and see. This is the usual way it works. Look at the present disgrace in Boston by a local ordinary seeking money. What debts does he need to pay? There is I submit always something hidden in the Agenda of the Hierarchs today. Unfortunately we have seen this proven too often lately.
I admit there are many people in the Church that still trust them but look at the caliber of their faith. They use and control the Bishops for their own benefits. Kiss b.o.t. tom folks mostly. Their agenda especially when we view the many so called catechism classes they run, is to change church teachings bringing it so close and then closer to reform and protestantism.
The statement on Zenit calls for leadership. What kind of leadership. The present leadership is severely fallen in a catholic sense. We get mostly leadership that revolves around egos. I hope the hierarchs realize this and change, better information from those in the pews on the ground on their blogs. So far I have not seen on many of these web pages and blogs any information that puts the bloggers and web wizards into confusion and contradicts what I see and read. Yet all I see from this statement is stalling. I am afraid I could not in honesty tell any of my children and grand children to believe it and that is the crux of the matter.
When all is said and done is there a world wide conspiracy to destroy the priesthood? If so they, the bishops have certainly made themselves and their priests easy targets. The priests should not suffer so at the hands of their spiritual fathers.

My Viewpoint with which I will live
It seems to me as I wonder at the western church and the deliberate obfuscations of those whom Jesus chose to lead us, of how far the Church is divided by first, from Christ, by the deep, woeful abyss and then secondly there are so many splits, cracks and then the sand upon which the walls of our church and faith are now built. We are no longer a universal church, no longer Katolicos. Scream posture and dance spitting words from your many tantrums, Hierarchs, I care far more for the church than your posturings. Let me tell you why. I came by my faith first through my father, whom I assured by One who knows, who said, "He is with us and he has no recriminations" Then I had teachers to whom, most of you do not hold a candle. You see they cared about me and my soul. They all provided the steady rock that the Psalmist wrote about, "You have placed me on a rock above my enemies, have hid me in Your tabernacle".
He, my Lord and Master, Jesus Christ told me at St Michael's shrine in Mexico. "Go say the Lord is my shepherd every day left to you and then Mary said, "For me also say my Magnificat". Later Mary told me, "You are my mystical Priest, go offer my sacrifice". So I do and what is her sacrifice it is the Mystical Body of Christ as was the Body of Her Son. Mary, beloved Mary put her Son on the cross for us as surely as His torturers and those spiritually homicidal maniacs that killed Him. I claim that the so called Collegiate of Hierarchs are doing the same today. No matter how good any of you seem to be, all of you collectively are in a lemmings united rush to perdition. You stand together against His words and habits we call tradition and yet are truly revelations over the 2000 years since Christ. You without exception remind me of the joke whose punchline is, "Get your own dirt".
Let me tell you about faith my faith and perhaps it may ring a bell or two. I got mine by pick and shovel, I laboured in schools and on the streets of Easton, Bristol while playing with anglican protestants defending what my Catholicism was and is. I defended it in youth clubs and dances, in parks contending with evangelists, in barrack blocks vying with many other faiths. I did not loose my faith nor substitute bits of other' false teachings because they felt better than what my teachers gave me to treasure.
Look at their names of those with whom many of you do not compare. SRS Joseph and Anthony, Mrs Fray, Mr Hooper, Mr Regan, Mr Merchant, Mr Patten, Mr Murphy Mr Ted McCarthy and the priests Canon Hayes, Fr McCarthy, Ted's brother, Fr Supple, Fr Creehan and the many Catholic Chaplains in the Air Force. I know where they are now. For a long time I went to confession and communion weekly and said the Prayer before a Crucifix each week for one, dedicating the plenary indulgence for them, one at a time. Even went although I was told by today's priests you do not need to confess every week. You are too austere. I say again I know where they are, my teachers.
Is my faith wrong since Vatican 2, no it is not nor are my catholic beliefs. I have the promise of the Popes since and before, a promise most of you have put aside egotistically and though you might not think so from, I tell from the pews, it shows,. Of course iit does, unless you are a sycophantic mule in your behavior, with your own agenda. I mean those laity who pat the priest on the head while doing their own thing behind his back. Your foolishness in not seeing this is amazing, amazingly so. Every Pope since Vatican 2 has reiterated Vat 2 was and is a pastoral council and nothing can be or has changed. This is my faith and I will stand upon the Rock where Christ has put me.
I will not let it vanish and will not let it be sent away by irresponsible Hierarchs who claim father knows best. I see the Church of this world today, it has changed from the Church militant, armed with Zeal into the church milquetoast. The Devil can't harm the Church but you sure as heck have. There are the dreadful splits in the Church fueled by the spinning of dogma and the ship is sinking bow first into the abyss. What are you going to do about it. Will you tell me I am a conspiracy fool, seeing wickedness where there is none. I am not spiritually blind fathers. Take this into your considerations. It won't wash fathers. The most evil action takes place in silence when as my compatriot Edmund Burke wrote, "All it takes is for no one to do anything". What I ask are you going to do? Any comments?.
