When did we put out the Light?
John Chapter 1 verse 3 and 4
In him was life, and the life was the light of men.
And the light shineth in darkness, and the darkness did not.

When then did the Light go out in the world? We put it out, did we not?

We did this act  and continue, copying the dreadful way of history. Although some of us tenaciously hold It deep in the center of our hearts, that place St. Teresa of Avilla calls the inner chamber of our soul. Most of us, we can say, members of the Catholic Church do not have a clue what the indwelling Holy Spirit means and are quite content to hold Him at arms length somewhere in our mind perhaps, remembering Him now and again. Others are quite content to have Him somewhere around us on Sundays.

We, all of us put out the light dreadfully and regularly. We must know and acknowledge the wicked one, the filth of hatred, the malevolent darkness took great delight in reminding the Light of the darkness of our minds in the Garden of Gethsemane. That place where the Apostles and where many of their successors took off like scalded cats. The latter day Apostles still seek comfort and safety in today’s world. They have little or no intention to suffer with Christ in any hardships. The hardships experienced by the temptation of the Mystical Body of Christ, as the secular world demands we accommodate its demands.

Even today we do not maintain the Light, we still hammer nails into the old wounds by denying the Creative acts of God. Catholics practice birth control, undergo abortions, practice unnatural acts, Apostles today scandalize the faithful just as the Apostles of yesterday scandalized Jesus by falling asleep. John in his description of the Passion said Judas was the keeper of the common purse and him a thief. Our common purse the truths of our faith are stolen daily from us by unruly thieves, who both hide and deny their dishonesty. The “crown of thorns” are hammered uncharitably into our intellects as tenets of our faith are gerrymandered to protect the “ipse dixit” of many hierarchs. These stout fellows stoutly defend their diocesan scandals and works, against all comers, even Rome, and yet send funds outside the country into other dioceses and contrarily deny their funding of dissident groups in other catholic bailiwicks. The emeritus Archangel of Washington DC denies the contents of a letter from Rome over the Eucharist. The letter is published and still there is no apology, that I have read or heard of, for the lie, oops, sorry spin. I constantly thank God for those hierarchs who are faithful to His Commands.
Vitues are re defined to make them more justifiable to egos. Humilty today only exists in the eye of the beholder if we are kissing his or her feet. Charity or Love is a Harlequin Romantic Act, sometimes little more than a one night spiritual stand. Peace is found in the slitted smile on a Buddhist.
Then to make sure we plunge a huge spear into the Body of Christ denying His words to offer Him a Gaian Priesthood to replace His and this spearheaded by His Spouses. Where then is the sweet smelling incense and spice of their prayers.

We put the Light out and two thousand years later we maintain as St Teresa saw, a spluttering candle in the soul of the Mystical Body hidden from God by a blackened carapace, a thick burnt shell that can only be pierced by penitence which causes the Holy Spirit to burst into this inner chamber of the soul. Jump up and down, do a liturgical danse macabre before the altars of your ego you may impress someone, whoever that someone is?

St Peter the first elder brother wrote, he said, still says as the Gospel is still alive,

Peter 2..Chapter 3 verses 8:13

8 But of this one thing be not ignorant, my beloved, that one day with the Lord is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

9 The Lord delayeth not his promise, as some imagine, but dealeth patiently for your sake, not willing that any should perish, but that all should return to penance.

10 But the day of the Lord shall come as a thief, in which the heavens shall pass away with great violence, and the elements shall be melted with heat, and the earth and the works which are in it, shall be burnt up.

11 Seeing then that all these things are to be dissolved, what manner of people ought you to be in holy conversation and godliness?

12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of the Lord, by which the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with the burning heat?

13 But we look for new heavens and a new earth according to his promises, in which justice dwelleth.

May I say perhaps with some hope two days down and one to go?
