Question 6 why the weslyan swoon?
I will never understand the complete lack of consideration and definitely the lack of knowledge of the Catholic Priesthood by prayer groups in the Church today and why they are allowed to act in error by the priests, themselves. When I used to show up at some of their meetings it always astounded me on how many women ran their rituals. Rituals that are  dreadfully close to pagan gatherings. One of their favorite priests locally, once told me he was very concerned about the state of the women who were the local leaders. He gave me good reasons why. Of course when they challenged him later, he told them I was quite crazy.
Let me ask some questions that might be apropos to actions which take place. First there is a strong affiliation, a strong reminder of Alcoholics Anonymous.  The participants sit ,in some cases, in a circle and give either testimony or prayer. They or many actually confess parts of their sinful life. I do know of one who took great delight in her regular confessions. By the way one thing that is stressed by these aficionados of public confession, they stress the Las Vegas formula, "What you hear here stays here. Rarely have I seen a Parish Priest present, another scandalous lack of shepherding by the local ordinary. Does no one tell them that because of scandal, public confessions in our church died out and were put aside by the Church centuries ago. Please do not tell me Vatican2 allows it as it called for a return to the early Church. A reading of St Paul's letter of admonishment to the Corinthians, convinces me I do not want to go back to all the depredations of the mystery religions. How dumbly this statement  is acceptable to so many.
Why the swoon when it could be as I wrote to the Local Ordinary, your priesthood has been put aside. Women take it upon themselves, and your priests bless their bottles of Olive Oil without questioning, to anoint others at occult ceremonies with the oil of happiness. They anoint their wrists with Holy Water to prevent the devil to enter them and lay hands on people to deliver them from evil. They, like their counterparts in the pentecostal movement believe, more without knowing, in the common priesthood. They call the swooning adopted from the early Wesleyans and call it slain in the Spirit, when did God deal in or how does He deal with our (spiritual) death? This arcane ceremony gives the Catholic Pentecostal, by the way an oxymoronic and disgusting title, far more pleasure as they swoon. It gives them far more pleasure than the reception of the Eucharist. I have yet to see one of their foolish virgins swoon then, perhaps it might no longer be the Eucharist for them? What should we feel at the reception of Holy Communion when we are in the right DISPOSITIONS. Let Lucia of Jesus of Fatima describe her experience at her first. "As the priest was coming down the altar steps, I felt as though my hearts would leap from my breast. But he had no sooner placed the DIVINE HOST ON MY TONGUE than I felt an unalterable serenity and peace. I felt myself bathed in such a supernatural atmosphere, that the presence of our Dear Lord became as clearly perceptible to me as if I had seen and heard Him with my bodily senses.
I have no doubt that when a priest, the sacrificial minster of the sacraments anoints you and your petitions are pure, honorable and directed to His Glory some movement in your heart and soul is inevitable. Otherwise it is like Saul on the way to Damascus, with I am sure the same question asked of you as of him. The swooning of the guards , caused by the words,  "I am He" who came to violate the body (temple) of our Lord Jesus Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane and the swooning of the guards as the stone rolled away and Risen Christ passed by them. Take note and consider these scriptural facts. If we truly believe the scriptures are inerrant, given and inspired by the Holy Spirit, we must accept St Paul's instructions as though from Him. The Holy Ghost whom loves us so much would not want us to sin, instructs through Paul, "If no one can translate, then be silent" To disobey such a command is either a sacrilege or a blasphemy each time it is disobeyed. Where are the instructions, violent to such prideful people, from the Church. I ask why then do they continue in this unseemly practice?  Of course the new found language for them in their  private revelations, is the language of angels. Who says so, does the Church, and where may I ask? I must mention it is reality the parish priest is not the spiritual guide and confessor to many of them, they show their elders know better in their groups. Crucified Love, Himself seems to by their actions and prayers to have no place in their ceremonies and to think as one told me in so many words, the Rosary of the Mother of all Charismas has no meaning for her. It is always the Holy Spirit. Well by a noted theologian many years ago the founder of the Catechetical School at Alexandria, St Didymus the Blind, teacher of the Capadoccian Fathers, wrote, "To pray to just one of the Trinity is a sinful error".
I make one more point. In the book the Catholic Pentecostals it is written that they found the Liturgy and the practice of their catholic religion was boring. These people went to an Episcopalian Vicar who sent them to a baptist woman who taught them tongues. I ask very deliberately. "a baptist woman taught them tongues." First, taught is not a gift, secondly obviously after reading Lucia above, they could not be, in any circumstances, in either the right disposition, nor have the virtue of religion and therefore by Church teachings lost Charity.
