  Why no news of grace??
Sometimes, it is very hard to get or make one’s thoughts coherent, to run in a train of thought that does not jump illogically but goes smoothly in the required direction towards the end that all Catholics should yearn. A blog should be the truth about oneself and open to criticism. Have you read some of the profiles, people submit? The view of oneself is rarely in agreement with what the blog expounds. My religion is Catholic and Catholics are taught to believe we exist in this benighted world to know God, to love Him and to serve Him in this world so we can be happy with Him in the next. Many catholic blogs, more than likely mine is no different, does not fulfill those parameters. May I perhaps place the actions of knowing, serving and loving Him in this world is not a subject or actions that many Catholics are capable of because they are either lacking of knowledge or confused. Both of these conditions are dreadfully obvious when one studies many of the blogs available, or when you discuss the faith with the ill trained Catholic Laity and unfortunately the priesthood of today.
The ability to be happy with Him forever in the next is a lost cause in the Church today. I think personally because we are not taught the conditions on how we will enter heaven. How many of us, Catholics that is, have heard sermons on grace ever preached from Church pulpits? We live in grace or we do not. We are grace filled or we are not. Can grace be lost? Can grace be regained? The answer lies in the phrase, “A Provident God”. Do priests either not know it or do they fear that grace is a topic too abstract or to esoteric for the minds of the Faithful to absorb and seek. By abstract I mean too spiritual thus needing an intellect not present in many of their congregations in to-day’s Church. There is no subject more practical, more essential, more uplifting, more consoling, more inspiring, than the marvels of the great gift of God’s grace to man? Can I suspect, or perhaps it is evident that this great and vital doctrine is not presented to the faithful in these days with the prominence and the persistence which is due. How can we consider we are ready for Heaven if we do not know of Grace, or how we loose it? Do we really know the effects and fruits of Divine Grace and the astonishing intimacy which the infusion of grace establishes between man and his Creator. May I claim most of us literally shrink, even deliberately turn away from the logical consequences of St. Peter's words that by grace we are made actual partakers of the Divine Nature and deny that streams of grace flow from God’s intellect to ours when in a state of that grace which sanctifies? So many in the Church are confused, confusion is not God’s gift but the work of the Filth which does not want us sanctified. Look at the state of so many in the Church today, are many of us in a state of confusion? You disagree then ask any of the priest and laity if we can loose the state of sanctity installed in us by the Sacraments of Baptism, Reconciliation and by the Last Rites. Ask them what the meaning is of the words told to Ezekiel, “All Souls are mine and the Soul that sins dies. Ask your parish priest what David meant when he prayed, “Cast me not away from thy face; and take not thy Holy Spirit from me”. At least then he may have to tell you what sin is, how we sin and how and why our eternal life is affected by it. Returning to my main theme of the effect of grace upon our catholic lives, making them Catholic, We should seek all the grace we can receive, not through spiritual gluttony, by zealously and energetically, that is overcoming our tepidity, to receive all that God will grant us as Mystical Catholics, and give us as practicing spiritual Catholics
The Holy Spirit that Bond of Love in the Beatific Vision, that dwells in the Most Holy Trinity is the Person of God we must in all ways available to us get to dwell in our souls and few Catholics truly knows the way to that possession. If they did the first step, that is the forgiveness of sins, this step would surely find the Confessionals over crowded. Until that time comes the priests are not as busy as they claim. That is, no matter what other claims Churchmen or laity profess, unless the priests are saving souls with the most important of the Sacraments, the sacrament that after baptism guarantees salvation, they are not busy. It is this sacrament that saves souls. The Doctrines of the Church never claimed before the start of Confusion that the Liturgy forgave souls other than the words, “Indulgentiam Absolutionem”, forgave venial sins. Ask your parish priest if this is so. Listen very carefully to his answer.
